Occasional damp mopping with warm water.Maintenance of your new floor: To obtain the best performance from your new floor & to avoid permanent damage, we recommend the following: Sweep or vacuum the floor depending upon traffic & soiling conditions Cut the tile & try fitting it into place before removing the paper backing.ĩ. Fitting around irregular objects: To fit tile around door jambs, pipes or other irregular objects, cut a paper pattern to fit & trace it on the face of a tile. On a scrap piece of material, cut through the tile along the mark, remove paper backing & lay cut tile into place.Ĩ. Now mark the cutting line where they overlap with a pencil or knife. Place a second tile over the first & butt it against the wall. Cutting edge tiles (see diagram): Without removing paper backing, place a loose tile over the last tile in the row. Press tiles against sub-floor for good adhesion.ħ. Ensure tiles are positioned tight against each other. When you are satisfied with the layout, remove the paper backing from the tiles & place in position (with all the arrows on the backs pointing in the same direction). If edge gap will be less than 150mm, move starting point. Laying the tiles: Starting at the centre point, lay tiles to each end wall to establish width of gap at the wall (DO NOT remove paper backing at this stage). The room is now divided into four equal parts.Ħ. Find the centre of this chalk line & using a carpenter’s square or a tile, draw a second chalk line at right angles to the first line, reaching to the side walls. Find the centre points of the two end walls & snap a chalk line between them. Plan the layout: Treat the room as a rectangle, disregard alcoves, offsets etc. Any chips or defects in the concrete sub-floor should be patched using floor levelling compound prior to the installation of the tiles.ĥ. Concrete: Ensure that the concrete sub-floor is free of moisture, dirt, wax, grease or any other foreign material. If the timber sub-floor is tongue & grooved, an overlay of 4mm hardboard should be laid over the top. If the timber sub-floor is porous, such as chipboard, it is recommended that a sealing agent be applied to seal the floor prior to installation. Timber: The floor should be sanded to ensure that it is smooth & free of moisture, dirt, wax, grease or any other foreign material. Check the sub-floor: Your finished floor can only be as smooth as the sub-floor. The producers will not warrant that different dye lots will match each other.Ĥ. Tiles should be inspected for any dye lot variations. This will ensure that the tiles are acclimatized & will ensure proper adhesion. For 24 hours keep tiles in the area where the installation is the take place. Condition tiles first: For best results, remove tiles from the carton & separate into small piles. Tools required: Ruler or tape measure, straight edge & pencil or chalk line, trimming knife, paper for tracing, scissors, carpenter’s square.ģ. Purchase extra tiles to cover mistakes in trimming & for possible replacement of future damaged tiles.Ģ. Determine the number of 305mm x 305mm tiles required for each area. If there are alcoves or offsets, measure these separately. Quantity of tiles: Measure the length & width of the room. Please read all instructions carefully before commencing installation.ġ. These tiles are easy to maintain, to clean just use a wet mop and general cleaning products. Pure Pyrex JAJ Silver Birch – YouTube The Pure Pyrex collection of ‘Silver Birch’ is relatively limited. Here is a reference from a 1950’s brochure. They came in two colours, red or green and are certainly suitable for a Christmas table setting. Only available in tableware cup and saucers, plates, and bowls, it is thought that the commercial restaurant and hotel market was the primary intension for these dishes. (1) Pure Pyrex – Pyrex for Christmas, JAJ Coronet Pattern 1957 – YouTube This pattern with its spiky design circling the rim of the plates or bowls resembles sun rays or icicles, is the very first pattern to be placed on white glass coming from the JAJ Co. The warming stand has a particularly atomic look about it with its splayed legs and ball feet. Available from 1960-62, this beautiful item is the only JAJ pattern designed in the ivory colour. The ‘Gold Wild Rose’ Opal serving bowl falls into the latter category. (1) Pure Pyrex Birthday Unboxing:JAJ Gold Wild Rose – YouTube JAJ Pyrex offered a 2.5 pint (UK) Cinderella mixing bowl with a knobbed lid and warming stand either within a set, such as the red ‘Gooseberry’ or the ‘Tally-ho’ patterns, or as a one-off item with a unique pattern. The Waredale range of dishes from JAJ offers this simple elegance here is a wide brimmed bowl in blue w/gold trim. Here I explore this idea and show examples in the Pure Pyrex collection. But nevertheless, I still find joy in the beauty of the minimal that can be found in the simple coloured tableware produced by JAJ Pyrex. (2) Pure Pyrex A Plate Miscellany – Love Those Colours – YouTube As an avid Pyrex collector, I fully appreciate the difference between the more desirable and displayable, like patterned casseroles, versus the more plain and utilitarian pieces like plates. Also, a two candle warming stand was produced to accessorise these dishes. The ‘Gaiety’ dishes were offered in a variety of colours and also the option of divided or non-divided dishes. JAJ shallow oval casseroles – Unlike the deep oval casseroles produced from JAJ Pyrex, the shallow ovals were offered in only the early ‘Gaiety’ range of dishes which includes the ‘Snowflake’ and the ‘Daisy’ patterns, with the exception of the limited ‘Wheatsheaf’ dishes (below) which were unique in shape from the other shallow ovals, and without a lid. Here’s a vintage pic of ‘Autumn Glory’ being made. Known as ‘Dahlia’ outside of the UK, likely exported from Hysil Glass, licenced from JAJ. Ranging from tableware sets to cookware and mixing bowls, together with many years of production, the ‘Autumn Glory’ pattern covers almost every type of dish that JAJ and post-JAJ (Corning England) produced. JAJ – Autumn Glory (1969 – 1984) This long running and popular pattern with its bright dahlia flowers is a relatively (in UK and Ireland) easy to find Pyrex collectable. JAJ offered this pattern from 1961 to 1963. These are now cherished parts of the Pure Pyrex collection. But what is really significant about this pattern for us is that two of the dishes are actual family heirlooms, from a County Antrim farmhouse where two now deceased brothers, our uncles lived. The camping and outdoors feel is reminiscent of the travel stickers you might see on the back window of a travel trailer in California. JAJ – Wildfowl (1961 – 1963) If you’re looking for real 1950’s charm, the ‘Wildfowl’ pattern doesn’t get any better. Here are some of our findings, and have a look at the linked YouTube videos. The focus of our collection is mostly on the pure white glass produced between the late 1950s and the late 1970s. You can see their current offerings, as well as behind-the-scenes images of their restoration projects, on Instagram and Facebook. We mainly collect JAJ Pyrex, manufactured at the Wear Glassworks in Sunderland, England. Neal Kielar is owner and creative director of MidModMen+friends, which offers hand-selected vintage and modern home furnishings in its St. There also are resources on cleaning Pyrex, history of the brand, appraising or finding pieces, and something about using toothpicks with Pyrex. The pattern guide section ( ) is the place to start. If you're curious to learn the name of your Pyrex pattern (and who isn't?) or you have to know if your favorite pieces are the real deal visit Pyrex Love ( It's a web site devoted to all things Pyrex, and these folks are serious. And some things that seem like Pyrex are not. Like most things collectible, some Pyrex patterns are amazingly valuable. The number of decorative patterns can be dizzying and many are extra hard to find because they were very limited promotional pieces. Collecting Pyrex is a huge part of the retro craze, with each collector having her or his own favorites. For others it's an affliction - in the good way. For some people Pyrex is a useful, durable kitchen work horse. To reduce the total simulation time, it can be execute the SNR points in the SNR loop in parallel by using the Parallel Computing. It can perform perfect or practical synchronization and channel estimation. In addition, we propose a data detection scheme based on a soft decision to improve reliability. A low-density parity-check (LDPC) code and 256 quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM), which are NR technologies, are applied to meet the high-reliability and high data-rate requirements of 5G.However, as the future 5G telecommunication system is unlikely to adopt the OFDM?s strict orthogonality between subcarriers or subchannels, its CFO may be measured in frequency domain.carrier frequency offset (CFO) measurement Technique. The Doppler shift and Doppler rate estimation technology are important for LEO satellite communication system. However, due to the high-speed relative motion between the satellite and receiver, there is rapid time-varying Doppler effect, which seriously degrades the performance of OFDM system. So LEO satellite communication system is considered as a promising complement to the terrestrial 5G networks. Besides, it has low propagation delay relative to the geostationary earth orbit (GEO) and medium earth orbit (MEO) communication system. Low earth orbit (LEO) satellite communication system can provide large coverage and is not susceptible to physical attacks and natural disasters. It also attracts extensive attention worldwide as a promising candidate technology for satellite mobile communication systems. Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) has been widely adopted by mobile communication system, such as long term evolution (LTE) and worldwide interoperability for microwave access (WiMAX), for its high spectrum efficiency and its robustness against multipath fading. Simulation results show that the estimators can perform well with large estimation range and high accuracy. Furthermore, Kalman filter is utilized to improve the stability of the frequency offset estimators in low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Precise Doppler rate is calculated by extracting the accumulated phase difference of two consecutive PSS. Besides, a Doppler rate estimation algorithm is proposed. Large estimation range and low complexity can be achieved in this method. The integer and fractional part of the Doppler shift is estimated within a prime synchronizing signal (PSS) in two steps. We present a method for Doppler shift and Doppler rate estimation based on 5G frame structure in satellite communication system. The signal demodulation is significantly affected by the time-varying frequency offset in low earth orbit (LEO) satellite communication system. Frequency Offset Estimation For 5G Based On Doppler And Kalman Filter In Satellite Communications System The last time Roma won the Scudetto was way back in the 2000/2001 season.īack then, the squad boasted talents like Cafu, Aldair, Walter Samuel, Cristiano Zanetti, Marcos Assunção, Hidetoshi Nakata, Emerson, Vincenzo Montella, Gabriel Batistuta and of course, the prodigal son himself, Francesco Totti.įM 19 | The Return of Roma's Reign || 5 Reasons I Chose Roma PS : the 2nd division has teams with history like U Cluj, Petrolul Ploiesti and Farul Constanta so don't expect it to be easy. So, with 3 teams from Timisoara in the second division, a huge stadium, a big city, can you make us the Ajax of Romania and not only that, but remake football in this country who is dominated by teams without any history, like FC Voluntari, Dunarea Calarasi or Concordia Chiajna? Oh, and there also is Ripensia, a historic team from Timisoara revived after 80 years. On the other side you have the team of the supporters, which started from the 5th division of football, ASU Politehnica Timisoara, which doesn't have a chairman IRL making money from donations and from the people who come to the football games. The team splits up (like MK Dons and AFC Wimbledon), the team of the city mayor, Nicolae Robu, named ACS Poli which was moved from the city of Recas and renamed from AC Recas, who just promoted into the second divison of football. Skip 91 years and historic wins over Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid, a european final with West Ham and you find the chairman, Marian Iancu, getting the team destroyed after relegating to the 2nd division. Why I suggest this ? Finances are low, big 30k stadium with attendances of 1-2k, weak team, 2nd largest city in Romania, not having football in the first division (which is shameful here ) and you can do non-Viitorul youth challenge in Romania.įor historic background (long) : The club is founded in 1921 by the Univeristy Politehnica Timisoara for students to play football. It provides a brief account of audiovisual translation types and focuses on certain types of shifts in Greek-English subtitling of a museum video presentation. It shows that subtitling can be a powerful tool in translation training and language learning, in that it provides a context for trainees' to observe how languages interact through translation, as manifested in subtitling song lyrics. The unit highlights audiovisual translation issues as manifested in subtitling English-Greek and Greek-English audiovisual texts. Unit 6: Issues in audiovisual translation: subtitling The assumption is that awareness of intercultural variation across languages and genres may improve translator-trainees' intercultural sensitivity and improve target version texture. The phenomenon the unit tackles is the vagueness/specificity variable across English-Greek respectively, which may go unnoticed, unless focused upon in training settings. The unit suggests that translators should be made aware of potentially subconscious variation between L1 and L2, which they may want to make use of in order to enforce the communicative potential of texts. Unit 5: Discourse patterns and translation in academia It draws on past research (but provides fresh new examples of variation) to show that messages are not transferred intact in English and that the identity of the target destination is reshaped in non-random ways pertaining to local conceptualizations of the environment, perceptions of the journey and tourist roles. The unit focuses on cultural and linguistic variation inscribed in tourism web-texts on target Greek destinations addressing an international audience. Unit 4: Constructing the self and other in tourism translation The unit highlights translation as mediation which has the potential to drive the interest and values of some locations and political action or players, with a view to modifying perception of political landscapes and the demographics of inclusion and exclusion. Unit 3: Media translation training:choice and political meaning The unit explores advertising strategies involved in cross-cultural transfer of promotional material in automobile industry to provide evidence of creative thinking in professional translational practice and to encourage focus on cultural aspects of commercial material mediation. Unit 2: Values in corporate advertizing through translation The unit uses a framework for identity construction suggested in professional communication analysis and shows how translated data manifest shifts which implement principles of the identity construction framework. This is shown through real-life translation data, with a view to raising trainees' awareness of the range of intercultural variability realized in intercultural transfer. The unit provides a rather broad account of how aspects of meaning-making change in translation. That was until you moved in with Julie Hargreeves, an old friend and Ebott's rising star. The song opens with somber piano chords accompanied by tapping percussive synths, then Matthew’s fragile-sounding vocals enter the proceedings as layers of magical and eerie synths, pulsating reverb and heavier percussion are added, creating a mysterious ethereal soundscape that evokes the dark and dangerous beauty of a deep blue sea. Musically, the song is both haunting and captivating, with an utterly brilliant arrangement. Locked and loaded, where the hell is peace of mind? The sweet surrender of silence forces me to live alone I wait on you inside the bottom of the deep blue I wait on you inside the bottom of the deep blue sea The salt, it seeps into the pores of my open skin The blood surrounding my body crushing every bit of bone Whether it be addiction, anxiety or depression-the feeling is that you’re trying to swim up from the depths and it’s just pulling you to the bottom of the sea.” It does a 180 and literally controls your life. Then you actually decide to give in to whatever your struggle is, and it just pulls you down. You have this beautiful thing that’s staring at you and it’s constantly telling you to dive in. The way that I always describe addiction is that it’s very sexual in a way. As noted on the website GENIUS, “ he uses the feeling of being pulled down to the bottom of the sea as a metaphor for the failure to overcome addiction (or anxiety or depression).” In a 2017 interview with the Pop Break, Matthew explained that the song “ is a conversation between the victim of temptation and the tempter, represented by the chorus. Like many of the songs on Loner, (as well as their second album The Darker the Weather // The Better the Man), “Bottom of the Deep Blue Sea” was inspired by Matthew’s struggles to attain sobriety as he reflected back on his teen years as an alcoholic and addict. Both songs were included on their outstanding debut album Loner, which also featured “Twisted” and “Everybody Gets High”, which was recently awarded a gold record certification by RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America). They followed “Middle Fingers” with “Bottom of the Deep Blue Sea”, which spent many weeks at #1 on SiriusXM’s Alt Nation Top 18 Chart in the summer of 2017. Then there’s Matthew’s uniquely stunning vocals that register in the higher octaves just below a falsetto, giving them a distinctive sound unlike any other singer, and making their music instantly identifiable as only MISSIO’s. I loved the trippy song and quickly became a fan of their edgy, thoroughly original and eclectic sound that’s a glorious mash-up of gritty alternative electronic rock, hip hop and dreamy emo vibes. The bottom of the sea is admittedly a somewhat unorthodox location, but a location it is!īased in Austin, Texas and comprised of singer-songwriter/producer Matthew Brue and songwriter/producer and instrumentalist David Butler, MISSIO burst onto the music scene in early 2017 with their single “Middle Fingers”. The topic for Day 3 of my 30 Day Song Challenge is “ A song with a location in the title”, and my pick is the mesmerizing “ Bottom of the Deep Blue Sea” by MISSIO.
